We are not going to be judged on who we knew but on the deeds of our own.
Mere attendance is not enough.
If I were friends with St. Francis and said " Oh Francis, I deem your fasting to be saintly" Is that an opinion or a deed? Our opinions are not going to be judged on their own, but only the deeds that flow forth from them or because of them. Francis is not a saint because he thought poor people were worthy of Love, but due to the result of that thought. A thought is not actually completed until it is put into action. A change from a "good person" to a "better person" to a "Saint" is not one of intellect only but one of intellect and will. That is why we are told to "DO what we Love" and "to BE Christ". We must keep thinking and refining our thoughts, but have the discipline and focus on Christ to DO (LOVE) while we are thinking.
